We all know the magical sound of street carts rolling buy yelling their food of choice – hotdogs, popcorn, pretzels, and the list goes on. However, where does one find these marketing carts? How does one choose the right cart?
What are some features to look for in a cart?
The right cart can be hard to find, there are many features to look into to decide on.
Will you be out in the hot sun? If so, an umbrella or canopy with the cart is the way to go. A canopy is best if the food itself cannot get too warm in the sun, but for hotdogs, nuts of popcorn an umbrella will do and provide you with some much needed shade.
Depending on the food, you will need to look into a freezer/ cooler or a heater/ grill surface. Always make sure that you check if there are any codes in the area you are selling the item that apply.
Size of the Cart
It is also crucial to look at the size of the cart you need. The amount of food you want to sell is not the only factor in buying a certain sized cart. You must also think in the space you have to sell. If it is too small, you may not be able to store all of your food, but if it is too big you cannot use the space allotted you. So get to measuring to find the perfect balance.
In addition to the cooking or cooling, you may want to add on a display case for items that can sit a room temperature. For instance, if you have a cooler but you want to show the drink option to go with you yummy salty pretzels then a display case should be something on your mind.
The right cart can make or break your new or continuing business so take your time to find the right one for you.
